Xblaze Code: Embryo is the only item that releases this week on the PlayStation Store in Europe – releasing over a year after its North America. The game is a sequel to the critically acclaimed BlazBlue series – but with a twist.

Unlike the main games of the BlazBlue series, it isn’t a beat ’em up but a visual novel. While it plays in the same world, it’s set 150 years prior to the events in the main series. Kyle reviewed the game when it released in North America last year and had this to say about the game;

Friendly to BlazBlue lovers and newcomers alike, XBlaze is a beautifully crafted visual novel with a unique (though trope-filled) story and a clever path system. Unless you’re offended by a little fanservice or the lack of combat, you’d be hard pressed to find a reason NOT to pick this one up.

Check out the review in full here – if you are a fan of Visual Novels then this may be something that peaks your interest!
