Story and character details have been revealed in latest teaser.

The latest title from the Digimon universe is set to hit stores in Japan next year, and developer Bandai Namco are no strangers dropping teasers. As well as details on the games story and further information regarding the characters Shiki and Kouta, we were also given details on the new character Himari Obuchi.

So lets begin with the story, which of course is described beautifully:

It’s been a long time… your heart flutters in your chest as you start up the Digivice. In an instant, your entire body is covered in a pure white light.

When you wake up, you’re in a mysterious world with no entrance or exit.

Shattering your confusion, an unknown threat attacks. And your dear partners come rushing to your dilemma. The bonds that were almost broken are connected, and a path is formed.

It’s the last summer vacation of high school. From a miraculous light, the gate to a new adventure opens.

Now lets meet the cast of Digimon World: Next Order starting with…

Shiki is the female protagonist. Players can chose between her and the male protagonist Takuto. Her arrival in the Digimon World seems to have a connection to the Digital Monster toy she wears on her wrist, which seems to have given her opportunity to travel from the real world to the Digimon World.

Kouta Hirose

Kouta shares similarities to Shiki. They are both third-year students, and both simply ended up wandering into the Digimon World. He is kind natured, and can read a room easily. Although he isn’t unpopular many people feel he is missing something. Perhaps he will find that ‘something’ at some point in the game?

and finally, introducing the latest new character…

Himari Obuchi

She is once again a third-year student, and although she is sometimes mistaken as self-centered due to her acts on impulse, she is actually a very caring person. She always looks as though there is something on her mind.

It was also revealed that your Digimon will display a variety of different facial expressions throughout the game, so don’t forget to keep an eye on your companion.
