BANDAI NAMCO have been a pretty decent supporter for the Vita, and this morning they told us that the newest ONE PIECE title, Burning Blood will receive a Vita release in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australasia in 2016.

Coming from the renowned Japanese developer Spike Chunsoft, ONE PIECE: Burning Blood is built upon the “wacky and rich ONE PIECE universe” and is described as offering a “never-seen-before experience thanks to the fast-paced gameplay and unique ONE PIECE elements”, such as the use of Logia Devil Fruits and “Haki” which can be used to execute impressive special moves to defeat the fiercest enemies. Here’s a trailer to give you a better idea.

Hervé Hoerdt, the Vice-President of Marketing and Digital at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe said:
“Meeting our fans on public & private events is a good way to get feedback on our games and see what the expectations are. ONE PIECE: Burning Blood is the perfect example of us creating a game impeccably in-line with fans’ desires. The long awaited pure fighting-game based on the ONE PIECE universe is here!”

We will bring you more news as soon as we have it! What do you make of the announcement? Are you a ONE PIECE fan? Let us know in the comments!

But… I want God Eater 2! Well, this’ll be great for the One Piece fans.

I think the only way we have a chance of seeing the game come west is if they replace the GE cast and replace them with the OP crew and call it One Piece:Pirate Eater or something’ to that effect. With all of the games that Bamco is bringing over, I’m still baffled as to why this is one of the games they’re balking on.

I’m guessing it’ll be digital only in North America, so hopefully this European release will be physical and I can just import it.
