Adult visual novel series will be brought to the west thanks to Sekai Project.

Earlier this year a Kickstarter campaign was set up my Sekai Project, with the aim of bringing the trilogy of Grisaia visual novels to the west. The campaign easily reached its original $160,000 target, which would see it come to PC and then reached its PS Vita stretch goal without difficulty, which was set at $240,000. The final amount raised for the campaign came to $475,255.

We have already seen part one of the trilogy, titled The Fruit of Grisaia, released on PC in the west earlier this year, with parts two (The Labyrinth of Grisaia) and three (The Eden of Grisaia) set to follow in the near future. But it has been noticeably quiet of the PS Vita port.

But a recent update on the Kickstarter page from a new member of the Sekai Project team called Audi, has shed some light on the lack of new info. He also shed some light on the difficulties developers have in bringing their games to PSN.

“In order to be approved, let alone have your titles viable to be put on a service like PSN requires a lot of paperwork, not to mention legalities from Japan, cleared up, GDD (Game Design Documents) need to be made from scratch to fully explain the game inside and out, content needs to be accurately presented and explained, and the list goes on.”

The most encouraging part of the post was the statement that the team have ‘now been able to progress rapidly and should have some very good news for Grisaia fans in the coming weeks” So it seems we will not have to wait long for new information regarding the titles release on Vita.

For those not in the know, The story behind the games centres around Yuuji Kazami and his entry into Mihama Academy – a place with only five female students and prison-esque qualities. Told that every student in the school has their own ‘circumstances’, he’s introduced into the population for a ‘normal’ school life… but he’s about to get more than he bargained for.
