I may be dating myself, but The Oregon Trail was a staple of my childhood. There was nothing like being able to go to the computer lab in school and hunt buffalo while trying to stave off dysentery. The only flaw the game really had was a complete lack of zombies. Fortunately, that problem has now been rectified as the team from The Men Who Wear Many Hats have announced that they’re bringing Organ Trail Complete Edition to the PlayStation Vita.
Organ Trail is a zombie survival game that is heavily influenced from that classic game with a similar sounding name. Hop into the station wagon and drive west as you scavenge for supplies and fight off hoards of zombies.
It was originally released five years ago as a web-based game, but it’s now making its way onto both the Vita and the PS4 as a cross-buy title. In addition to the original game, this “Complete Edition” will also feature both the Endless Expansion and the brand new Final Cut Expansion. Both of these expansions bring more vehicles, more characters, more cities, more bandits, and probably more dysentery (though that last one is just a guess on my part).
Organ Trail Complete Edition is scheduled to release next week on October 20. Check out the live action trailer to get a glimpse of what the game looks like (actual gameplay doesn’t come in until around 3:57).
