Teaser gives us an idea of the games combat system and artstyle.

Coven and Labyrinth of Refrain, the upcoming dungeon crawling RPG from Nippon Ichi Software, is set to release for PS Vita in Japan on January 28th 2016 and ahead of the release we have been treated to the first teaser trailer for the game.

Although we aren’t given any gameplay footage, the teaser showcases the games artstyle as well as giving us a better look at the games story. As you would expect, the trailer is subtitled entirely in Japanese. Check it out below:

We were also treated to some new screenshots, which gives us a look at the games combat. You can have a look at the images in the gallery below.

For those not in the know, Coven and Labyrinth of Refrain starts off in a town called Refrain, which is home to a Labyrinth and a curse. Those who are inflicted with this curse have their lifespans halved. In the RPG, players will play as a magical book titled The Way of the Monster, as you guide a witch around the labyrinth. Unfortuantely, being a book and all, you aren’t able to actually battle. Luckily you can control dolls which were created to aid the witch in battle.

I’m currently working my way through Conception 2 which has rekindled my love for dungeon crawlers. It would be nice to experience Nippon Ichi’s take on the genre.

I tried Conception 2, but once they started calling me God’s Gift, I couldn’t take it anymore. Funny how one thing can turn you off of something. Lol

Ha! Yeah It’s a bit much. But I let it slide seeing that it’s probably meant more to stroke the budding machismos of teenage boys rather than of aged and crusty older peeps such as myself lol!
