Announced at last year’s PlayStation Experience, this remaster of the classic adventure game is set to feature new hand-drawn, high resolution artwork alongside remastered audio, music and sound effects. Similar to this year’s Grim Fandango Remastered, Day of the Tentacle Remastered will also feature a commentary track by the game’s original creators (Tim Schafer, Dave Grossman, Larry Ahern, Peter Chan, Peter McConnell, and Clint Bajakian).
Another similarity between the Grim Fandango remaster and this is the ability to switch between the new and original artwork at the touch of a button. There is also a new, optional UI if you would rather play with a verb dial rather than a grid of commands.
Day of the Tentacle Remastered will feature Maniac Mansion (the prequel to Day of the Tentacle) as an in-game bonus – just as it was when the original Day of the Tentacle released.
Slated for an early 2016 release, Day of the Tentacle Remastered will also release on the PlayStation 4 – with the PlayStation versions supporting Cross-Buy.
Are you looking forwarding to playing through this remastering of a classic? I know that I am! Be sure to keep an eye on The Vita Lounge for more news on this title between now and its release.
