It seems like it has been forever since we last received any news on Rocketbirds 2 Evolution for the PS Vita. That’s probably because it has been well over a year since we last saw anything on the game. But now the folks at Ratloop have posted a new, however brief, trailer for the game and one important announcement.

Hardboiled Chicken is back and ready for action. The only thing standing in his way is the entirety of the penguin army, but that is no problem for a chicken with a jet-pack. Or is it?

The trailer is actually less interesting than the piece of text which pops in at the end. The game is slated for release in the first quarter of 2016.

Attached to the video, the studio left the following statement:

“Sorry for the delay folks, but we couldn’t ship a game unless we felt it was absolutely done. And now we’re absolutely done – and can’t wait to show you more! So now we test the h^&* out of it for a couple more months!”

Rocketbirds 2 Evolution is slated to be released on both the PS Vita and PS4 early next year. I hope I’m not the only one excited to see it finally coming.

Wow that totally came out of nowhere! Hopfully they’re planning a simultaneous release so we PS4 less Vita owners aren’t left hanging. Oh Axiom Verrrrge, where are yousss?!

I loved the first game, so I’m glad to see that this game may finally be coming out soon. I don’t mind them taking so long with it as long as it comes out great, which it sounds like it will.

Which is my problem with Jacob Jones. I love episode 1 and then episode 2 never came. So yes, I’m also really glad to see this game is finally coming.

Jacob Jones is a prime example of why I generally wait until all of the episodes of an episodic game are out before I buy it. I just prefer to play the game all at once, and by the time all of the episodes are released the game has usually gone on sale.

I was really excited for Jacob Jones, but I’m glad I skipped it instead of experiencing an incomplete story. I think the developer is still in business, so maybe they will finish it one day, but I’m not holding my breath.
