Vlambeer has released the launch trailer for the PlayStation Experience announced, “available now” title Nuclear Throne.

Showing off both the “why” and the “who” of the situation, this Nuclear Throne trailer also gets to business with a little gameplay – hoping to throw enough reason at you in ~80 seconds to get you to bite.

Did it work?

Nuclear Throne is available right now, priced at US+CAD$11.99 / UK £9.49 / EU €11.99.

Massive fan of this on PC and insta bought on Vita. It isn’t full screen and you can’t use the D-Pad. Those are my only two quips. Apart from that, it’s the identical Nuclear Throne goodness I love.

I’ve been holding in my anticipation for this on my vita, so I never bought the PC version, does it go to fullscreen/widescreen there? Wonder why they couldn’t have given us an option to stretch it.

Sorry for the late reply Slizarus. It doesnt stretch for reasons the developers outlined in a post.

Its to eliminate player bias. In tests where the game was stretched to fit the screen, they found players were less likely to move up and down as often as they’d move left or right as the longer horizontal view was ‘safer’. Ie. You could ‘see’ further ahead.

I understand exactly what they’re saying. Thanks for the reply, I picked it up basically immediately 🙂 Very challenging.

Purchased this Instantly on the vita too, I loved them after Luftrausers and I’m excited to say it’s really quite fun, and very difficult. The sensitivity takes a little bit of getting used to, but after making it out of the wasteland and into the other stages I gotta say my interest is really piqued, they make the darkness scary 😀

The PS4 version is also bordered. Not sure about why this is but there must be some technical aspect to it.

I agree. Its hard but fun. I just reached the crystal caves for the first time ever on any platform yesterday!
