Trailer illustrates different environments you’ll explore. Or smash.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have been in touch today to show us a new trailer for the upcoming LEGO Marvel’s Avengers – based around the Marvel Cinematic Universe and specifically the Joss Whedon Avengers movies.

Although we expect that the Vita version will be a smaller experience than the console edition, the new trailer shows off many locations that you may be familiar with from the MCU such as Asgard, New York, Washington or even Sokovia.

Our press release tells us that the trailer “introduces players to the expansive streets of open world New York City, as well as additional HUB environments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to freely roam and explore.”

You will be able to explore New York City, Asgard, the Barton Farm, Malibu, S.H.I.E.L.D’s base Exterior, Sokovia, South Africa and Washington, D.C. with Hulk, Quicksilver and many more – including Fing Fang Foom – all using their skills as you would expect.

What did you make of the trailer? See any homages to your favourite MCU films? Any Marvel fans looking forward to this one? The game launches on January 29th and I for one will be getting it. Whilst we wait for that we’ve got a few new screens for you to enjoy too.

I prefer the superhero Lego games to have their own unique story. Being comic book characters, it’s better to not be constrained by the movies plot and just go crazy with their own weird silver age type story. I don’t care if they use the movie costumes for the characters.

With the steps forward Vita LEGO games have been making, I wonder if we’ll finally see these open worlds on the Vita.
