Famitsu’s preview of Sphere of Influence Sengoku Risshiden has enlightened us a bit with some details and images from the game.
Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence Sengoku Risshiden is based on Sphere on Influence, but with a twist – allowing you to experience the life of a military commander for the first time. It takes the summer campaign of the siege of Osaka – as depicted in the TV drama Sanada Maru – as its theme, building various scenarios and battle events to compliment the idea.
An interview with producer Kenichi Ogasawara revealed that the game was born from the want of fans to play as a military commander in Taikou Risshiden V, and was made a full fledged title instead of DLC because they didn’t want to dilute the concept.
The idea is that you choose from one of 2000 potential military commanders, and then take on their life; looking to get them in power to either fulfill what you believe are their dreams, or simply conquer all the lands in your sight. The trick is that by taking on their life, you also take on their death; when your life runs out, the game’s over. 😉
Featuring both siege and naval battles, this one’s definitely catering to its fans. In siege battles you’ll take on the stronghold of a castle, either taking on opposing forces with cannons or waiting for reinforcements depending on your predicament. As for naval battles, you’ll see them fought by recognizable military commanders and in proper naval fashion.
