Square Enix has released some new information on their website for upcoming game Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna. If you’ve read any of our previous updates then you’ll know that the gameplay will be reminiscent of 90’s RPGs and in particular Chrono Trigger.

The game is set on an island where a ritual sacrifice is offered once every ten years. But for some unknown reason monsters have begun to attack long before the next sacrifice is due. As the protagonist, you need to escort the next sacrifice, Setsuna.

During battles, cooperative techniques can be used when certain skills are equipped. Once the ATB gauge has filled up you can have two or three party members join in to attack an enemy simultaneously, this can lead to you dealing some pretty devastating damage.

Check out a couple of the new techniques below:

The X-Slash is a high-speed dash technique between the protagonist and Kuon. Its high speed leaves traces of an “X” in its wake.  ITYNS 1The Icega attack is a powerful attack with water elemental magic. You’ll need to attack with the protagonist and Julion in order to activate this attack.
