Square Enix has announced that they’ll be shutting down the free-to-play Japanese RPG at the end of next month.

Citing a lack of balance between development and capital as the main reason for the shut down, an internal consultation within Square Enix has led to the decision that they will be shutting down the Rise of Mana F2P service instead of letting themselves deliver less-than-satisfactory content for it in the future.

Services will be concluding on March 31st, 2016 – though the company has stated they’ll be looking into delivering the game in a different (non-F2P) form.
