Nippon Ichi has released their early Japanese demo for Hero Must Die, and I took it for a test run – nabbing us some screenshots along the way.
Hero Must Die will have you playing as the titular hero, who has been sent back to the land of the living after losing to the evil Demon King. With five days to live it’s time to get yourself together so you can take him on once more.
The 796MB demo isn’t as English friendly as some of the other demos and games have been lately, however it’s playable enough by the trial-and-error style player or those with some real Japanese under their belt (unlike my piss poor comprehension). As such, I tended to skip the text and just tried to get a feel for the actual gameplay, which seemed a bit simple but enjoyable none-the-less.
Anyways, here’s a bunch of screenshots I took from early in the demo (which allows you to play through the full “five years” of life once);
Hero Must Die is out February 25th in Japan, but as you can see the demo is very much available now. In case you’re wondering, it works on PlayStation TV as well. 😉
