More details have emerged for upcoming Utawarerumono: The Two Hakuoros including returning characters and some interesting info on the game from an interview with producer Naoya Shimokawa.
Several characters will be returning for this instalment from previous games and one new character has been unveiled.
Oshutoru (Haku) – (Voiced by Keiji Fujiwara) The protagonist. At the point of dying request of Oshutoru, Haku wears the mask in his place.
Nekone – (Voiced by Inori Minase) She supports Haku to fulfil her older brothers dying request. She carries the responsibility for her brother’s death on her back and agonises herself for it.
Rurutie – (Voiced by Ai Kakuma) After a fight with her allies and the death of the Haku she admired she has shown great mental growth.
Atui – (Voiced by Yumi Hara) The beloved daughter of the emperor of the ocean country, Shahhoro.
Fumiruiri – (Voiced by Yuko Gibu) This character is new to the series. She is a big hearted girl born in Tuskuru. She is a good, understanding person and Kuon’s attendant, while at the same time an older sister-like character.
There were a few more details about the game that came up in an interview with producer Naoya Shimokawa. As it stands Shimokawa feels the game is currently “70% complete” though rather worryingly its mentioned that if there is a delay it will be “1-2 months” which isn’t reassuring for fans if theres already talk about how long a delay will be for the game. More reassuringly though Shimokawa hopes that they continue developing the Utawarerumono series in the future and the scenario writer for the game has an idea for a “Zero” concept where a young Tuskuru plays an active role.
Speaking more on the game itself it is revealed that this game will pick up immediately after the previous game although character levels from the previous game will not be carried over into this one. The team are also hoping to find a better balance in this game acknowledging that in the previous game there was a greater emphasis on the adventure parts.
Finally speaking about the previous work in the series, across all three platforms the previous game sold more than 150,000 copies and although currently there are no plans to sell a bundle version of previous work they are considering they can discount the download version.
Utawarerumono: The Two Hakuoros is due out for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita in Japan on September 21st. Stay tuned to The Vita Lounge for more information as it comes.
