But don’t get too stressed about it…

Darkest Dungeon, the roguelike dungeon-crawling RPG, initially released earlier this year for Microsoft Windows and OSX, with developer Red Hook Studies informing us that Sony platforms would be getting in on the brutal action this Spring.

Unfortunately it seems they had been a bit too optimistic with this release window, with today’s announcement revealing that the Darkest Dungeon release window for PSVita and PS4 has been moved to late July/August.

Although this is disappointing news, it is for a good reason! Red Hook Studios are working on adding extra content, which is currently not available in the PC and Mac versions. Called Town Events, they will add variety to the campaign. They will sometimes be related to quests you’ve completed, sometimes not. This feature will be patched into other versions of the game this coming May.

Darkest Dungeon
has received rave reviews since its initial release, so we cannot wait for its PS Vita debut. For those not in the know, the game puts a twist on the dungeon-crawling RPG genre, as its not just enemies and epic battles to worry about, but also maintaining your teams stress levels. If a member of your crew becomes too stressed, they will die of a heart attack… and once they’re dead they won’t be coming back. If it isn’t stress levels, there are also all manners of diseases to be vary of. It certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted.
