Square Enix are releasing more information about the upcoming Dragon Quest Heroes II: The Twin Kings and Prophecy’s End, this time about the Monster Coins returning from the previous entry and the Advanced classes present in the game.
In the first game defeating monsters on the battlefield would sometimes yield Monster Coins for the player to use to help them during the battle. Monsters would either spawn alongside the battle and help the player fight or they would have a special support skill such as healing the player or a one off special attack. Dragon Quest Heroes II expands on this mechanic by adding a new type of monster coin, the Transformation type. The Transformation type coin will allow the player to transform into a monster for a period of time.
Also talked about are the Advanced classes present in the game. The player is able to freely change their classes throughout the game, in addition to the base classes such as Warrior and Mage etc are Advanced classes that allow you to obtain even more power and skills.
Before you can use these Advanced classes you must first gain enough experience in the relevant basic classes. For example in order to unlock the Battle Master class you must first level up the Warrior or Fighter class. In addition to levelling up the basic classes the player must then complete a specific quest handed out by the Priest at the class change office.
Dragon Quest Heroes II: The Twin Kings and the Prophecy’s End is due for release on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita in Japan on May 27th. Stay tuned to the Vita Lounge for more information as it comes.
