Following on from the footage of a multiplayer boss battle Square Enix have now given out more details on the multiplayer component of Dragon Quest Heroes II.

First up and rather excitingly Dragon Quest Heroes II will support both cross-play and cross-save. Cross-play works between all platforms, PS4, PS3 and PS Vita and save data can also be transferred between all 3 versions. The cross-play should help to keep a decent online community for all platforms so don’t feel you have to get the home console version just to join in with friends.

There will be two types of multiplayer in the game, players can team up together and take on the game’s Story Battles, you’ll be able to recruit friends to help with tough stages. The other players will replace your normal party members and you can register up to three friends before a battle at Rikka’s Inn.

The other type of multiplayer is known as the Space-Time Labyrinth. Here up to four players can take on this challenge where you will be fighting various enemies and will obtain varying rewards once it is cleared. The Labyrinth can only be taken on once the player has obtained the “Labyrinth Map” item. You can also take on the Labyrinth with your AI party members or on your own if you so wish.
