Ahead of the game’s release in Japan we now have 30 minutes worth of footage for Dragon Quest Heroes II on PS Vita. This is by far our best look at the game on the handheld, you can check out the footage below.

It’s worth noting that the footage seems to be taken from early on in the game, this is typically where less action is on screen and so late game, where there could normally be a lot more action and enemies, we have no idea how the Vita version will hold up against the console versions of the game.

Dragon Quest Heroes II:The Twin King’s and the Prophecy’s End releases in Japan on May 27th. Stay tuned to The Vita Lounge for more news on Dragon Quest Heroes II.

Looking pretty good for a Vita game. Hope we get this in the west. It just scored incredibly highly in Famitsu.

“It’s worth noting that the footage seems to be taken from early on in the game, this is typically where less action is on screen” – you know, I wish this was a stable alpha/BETA version of the game, so they could’ve spawned a lot of enemies around – that would be interesting to see.
Admittedly I have not experienced any kind of lag/frame drops when playing Ragnarok Odyssey ACE, so I believe what S-E/K-T is trying to achieve on the Vita is possible. Matter of fact, this begs this question: If Koei Tecmo is handling the Vita port, which engine is the Vita version of DQII based on?

Nevertheless, I’ll reserve my comments about the performance for later. Watching this gameplay makes me want to play it so badly…
Meanwhile, no word on Adventures of Mana to the West. Damn it. I wish Square never posted that blog if they were going to take this long to update.
