A new Minecraft Mini-game will be releasing FREE in June.

Team Microsoft, which includes Mojang, 4J Studios and Microsoft have annouced a new game mode for Minecraft on Sony devices.

In a posting on the PlayStation Blog, Jaime Limon, Senior Product Marketing Manager for Minecraft, revealed details of the new mini-game, as well as announcing it will be coming free to owners of Minecraft on PS Vita, PS3 and PS4.

The mode will be titled Battle and is a competitive multiplayer free-for-all deathmatch mode. In this mini-game, players will have to use randomly generated resources to win, which are found in chests within specially-designed PVP maps. The last man standing is victorious, but if you fall, you’ll still be involved in the action. After being defeated, players will return to the battlefield in the form of a bat! This allows you to fly freely around the map, even distracting players if you are in to such dirty tactics. Team Minecraft also stated they will be supporting this new mode, with Map-Pack add ons in the future.

On PS Vita, Battle will allow up to 4 players to fight it out at once online and will be available for FREE to all owners of the game in June via an update.

Not your cup of tea? Then you’ll want to keep checking back to TVL, as Battle will be the first of many new mini-games to release in the near future!
