A post from an official SaGa Twitter account has revealed that Square Enix is working on localizing the PlayStation Vita version of the latest game.

With the mobile (Android/iOS) localizations already out, and the Japanese versions released in March, Square Enix’s @SaGa25kawazu Twitter account has announced that they’re currently working on the PlayStation Vita version of their Romancing SaGa 2 localization, asking us to be patient for it.

Here’s the tweet in full;

But that’s not all! A few hours after that tweet went live, another tweet was posted – talking about the demand for a physical copy of the game (ROM Version).

Here’s what the account had to say in that regard (original post and machine translation after);

“Once you tweet topic of the English release of Romancing SaGa 2, there was some demand for ROM version. So, I have a question for the Vita user of everyone. To those of the download is cheaper price, soon enters the hand. What reason towards the ROM is good there is something? And opinions please. By the way, SSG will naturally Lom sell.”

So there we have it; Romancing SaGa 2 is on its way, and they want to know why/if you want a physical copy when the digital version would be cheaper and quicker.

Are you down for the wait (or extended wait for physical), or is this announcement too little, too late? Sound off in the comments below!

    Alright, go Square Enix! First the Dragon Quest Builders’ announcement and now this one. This is good. I’m especially excited to get DQ Builders. There’s also World of Final Fantasy coming soon after. They’re on quite a roll. Now I’m hoping for the Vita western release announcements for Adventures of Mana and Dragon Quest Heroes II. Still would like an I am Setsuna western Vita release if they’re still considering too.

    Sorry to be pedantic, but when you report on a game can you please include a link to an earlier summary of what it is? You guys can usually summarise this stuff better than something like wikipedia can, in terms of what info we’ll care about.

    Wow. I wasn’t expecting this. Sure, I’d wait for a physical copy, as I like to hold things in my hands. But I won’t complain too much abouy a digital only release. It’s more about the fact that vita memory cards are still really expensive, and real estate on them can be hard to come by if all your games are digital only. Not everyone has a 64 and a 32 gig as I do. So, releasing it at all (even only digitally) is great, but having the option is always a plus.

    Honestly, I’d enjoy digital games on console much, much more if I could just order my download list alphabetically by game name, and any dlc I’ve purchased for it grouped together… it’s such a pain if you don’t have your games backed up in digital storage, and even then, it’s not alphabetical.

      Your mouth to God’s ears brudda! Could not agree more! Seems to me some sort of a sort (HA! HA!) feature would be a minor function to add.

    I am down wit this!
