Square Enix has pulled a rabbit from their hat and stealth-released Adventures of Mana on the European PSN.

After hitting Japan back in February, and then being looked into as of only a day after release, it looks like this one has progressed quite far while away from prying eyes – the last sixteen or so weeks used wisely. I say that because Adventure of Mana is out right now on the European PSN, without even a peep. Stealth releases for the win?

Need a refresher on the game? Well here’s the description from the PSN Store;

“Enshrined atop Mt. Illusia, high above the lofty clouds, stands the Tree of Mana. Drawing its life energy from the boundless celestial aether, the sentinel grows in silence. Legend holds that he who lays his hands upon its trunk will be granted power eternal―a power the Dark Lord of Glaive now seeks to further fuel his bloody quest for domination.”

Priced at £11.49, compatible with PlayStation TV, and clocking in at ~508MB; Adventures of Mana is available right now on the European PSN. As for North America, we’re just as in the blind with regards to information – though it wouldn’t be unusual for it to show up tomorrow.

  • Well this is a pleasant surprise! I hope it runs alright! If it does, I might consider picking it up eventually…

    Very nice! What a nice surprise from Square Enix. I hope they have some more exciting news to surprise us with.

    Finally! I want that game so much!
    Thank you Square!

    And to think, I was about to buckle and pick this up on iOS! Fingers crossed for Final Fantasy IX so show up next week?

    I’m so happy about this one that I bought it without thinking twice. I hope they also release I am Setsuna to the vita as well.

    Supposedly this is more of a anniversary surprise instead of a pure “stealth” release. The first Mana game (which this is a remake of) released on June 28th. It should pop up in the NA store today once it updates. Seems it will be priced at 13.99 USD. Be it stealth or surprise, I’m glad to see that Square listened to it’s fans. Hopefully Setsuna will follow.

    How does it run on the Vita? Anybody got it yet?
