Marvelous have revealed new characters, game details and screenshots for Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star.
Three new characters have joined the roster, Lu Bu Fengxian, Gawain and Karna. you can check out their details and short descriptions below.
Lu Bu Fengxian
Noble Phantasm: God Force: The Five Soldiers of the War God
A famed military commander from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. As a Berserker, he has lost all reason and ability to think for himself as well as many of the martial arts he has mastered. Despite this he is still a warrior of grand constitution and exceedingly high offensive and defensive qualities.
Noble Phantasm: Excalibur Galatine: The Reborn Sword of Victory
A Knight of the Sun and famous in the Knights of the Round Table. A Loyal knight who devotes himself as the sword of the King. He is a man of great effort, but since he is a prodigy that knows no setbacks he struggles to read the situation properly.
Noble Phantasm: Vasavi Shakti: O Sun, Abide to Death
A hero from Indian mythology. Son of the Sun God. He is an unpretentious and handsome man of fair complexion who is mercilessly ruthless towards his enemies. At first glance it would appear he lacks humanity, but he has an extremely honest and thoughtful personality. It’s said his words always fall short.
Along with the new characters we now also have some details surrounding the story of the game and the allegiances of the various characters. Nero’s and Tamamo no Mae’s parties are fighting over the right to rule before Attila arrives with the intent of destroying civilization forcing the other two parties into a corner and forcing a three way battle for control of the world. You can check out the three parties below and see who is fighting for each leader.
- Nero Claudius
Tamamo no Mae’s Party
- Tamamo no Mae
- Elizabeth Bathory
- Lu Bu Fengxian
- Jeanne d’Arc
It seems for the moment at least that Artoria Pendragon has no allegiance to any of these parties though whether this will remain the case throughout the game remains to be seen.
Finally we also got a few little bits of information about the game systems via an issue of Weekly Famitsu. Leveling up servants will rather obviously increase their strength but you can also strengthen servants with items that can be found during various sub stories you’ll find in the game. The protagonist will be unable to directly take part in battle however they can influence the battle dependent on their equipped outfit. New outfits can be created through crafting though we’re still waiting for details on exactly how the outfit system will work.
There are various items that can be utilized by the player for various effects, Command Spells for example can be used to revive a character or by consuming more you can power up a character for a while. Phantasm Circuits are used to unleash the characters Noble Phantasm, you can even trigger your attack to cancel out an opponents Noble Phantasm. Lastly there is Moon Cell Magical Energy, for servants that possess the Regalia this will trigger the “Moon Crunch” form change, and for those without it triggers the ability enhancing “Moon Drive”.
Hopefully we will receive more official information on the game’s systems in the near future. What do you think of the new additions to the game? Has anything caught your interest yet? Let us know in the comments below.
