Koei Tecmo has launched the official website for Samurai Warriors: Sanada Maru giving us a more fleshed out look at the information we have so far.
As we already know the game will follow the life of Sanada Yukimura from a child up until his eventual death. In a first for a Warriors title the game will follow the characters as they grow up with their appearance changing through the years.
Despite the game following the life of Yukimura, there are other playable characters, for example the long requested Sanada Masayuki will finally be a playable character. However at the moment we have no idea how these other characters will be playable, whether it is a free mode or for some of the story missions.
You can check out some of the characters below
Young Sanada Masayuki
Kid Sanada Yukimura
Adult Sanada Yukimura
We already know a little about some of the games features, including the ability to explore the world and scavenge for items. There is also the castle town which will act as a hub for the player, from here they’ll be able to perform a variety of actions.
Similar to towns featured in the Dynasty Warriors franchise, you’ll be able to interact with the various generals around town and trigger special events. You’ll also be able to train your character or shop for items in between battles here. Expect to be spending a lot of time getting prepared for battles in the town.
Also being talked about are the game’s 3D maps, introduced in Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence the maps will display the land from various angles and are there to help players understand the state of the land throughout the game.
So there we have it, details are slowly coming out for this game and it’s certainly an interesting direction for the Warriors gameplay to take and I’m excited to see this game in action. What do you think so far? Let us know in the comments below.
Samurai Warriors: Sanada Maru is set to release on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita in Japan some time this year, no word yet on a western release. Stay tuned to The Vita Lounge for more information as we get it.
