The eagerly awaited dungeon crawler from Red Hook Studios arrives at the end of September for the Vita
Are you excited for Darkest Dungeon? I know many at TVL are and today Red Hook Studios finally let us know when we can go exploring!
In a post on the EU Blog, Red Hook Studios’ Community Manager, John Lindvay, explains:
“Ruin has come to our family… and the terrible task of restoring your estate to its former glory falls to you. It brings us great pleasure to finally announce the upcoming release date for Darkest Dungeon for both PlayStation 4 and PS Vita: 27th September 2016.”
Darkest Dungeon is a challenging “gothic turn-based dungeon crawler” about the psychological stresses of adventuring. Drawing inspiration from classic tabletop experiences, Darkest Dungeon’s heroes are human and the experiences they face will push them to their limits. Stating that only under great stress will a hero be born, success isn’t guaranteed and many an adventurer will fall along the way…
In the blog post, John goes on to explain that since we last heard about the game, even more content has been added to the game with 15 classes of hero all seeking either redemption, glory or fortune. There are more than 40 different town events which add variety to your campaign including a chance encounter with the nefarious Vvulf and his Bandit Raiders, which doesn’t sound like a good thing.
We have also learned that the game will be cross buy with the PS4 version, utilise cross save and will also launch with a 20% PS Plus discount when it arrives!
Are you looking forward to Darkest Dungeon? We will bring you more news as we have it, but until then let us know what you think in the comments!
