Discover the “ancient, Germanic future” next month!
Have you heard of Lichtspeer? It’s a game set in a mythical Germanic space world in AD3069 is an action/arcade “lightspear-throwing simulator” and it will be landing on the Vita (and PS4/PC) this September.
Lichtspeer’s world is filled with all sorts of creatures, like Penguin Vikings, Wurst Zombies and even Hipster Ice Giants and survival is an art form. Luckily, a champion blessed with an extremely elegant weapon has been summoned to please the gods, and it’s down to you to restore order to the universe.
By equipping your lightspear (think of a Light Saber, but one that you throw like a javelin) you’ll venture across the many lands from German myths, survive in style and amuse the almighty Lichtgods!
Check out the launch trailer below to get a better idea of what to expect.
Our press release tells us that in Lichtspeer you’ll experience a mix of arcade action and lightspear-throwing whilst battling a diverse legion of gargantuan bosses. You will need to exploit their weaknesses and smash them into pieces.
Along the way you will discover the lands of ancient Germanic future – fight hordes of Biedermeier beasts from another dimension: Wurst Zombies, Evil Spacedwarfs, Skater Walruses, you name it whilst showing off your lichtmeister skills – decapitate your enemies with headshots, execute special attacks, and generate “zuper” massive combos to improve your score and impress your friends – whilst raving to a “bombastich” space-soundtrack – ranging from electro-space marches to vibrating sounds of “technocumbia”.
If that isn’t enough to whet your appetite, you can also rise to the challenge and see if you got what it takes to beat the cruel, nerve wrecking Rage Quit and New Game+ modes.
Lichtspeer is expected in September and is being published by Crunching Koalas, the developers behind Mousecraft. We will bring you more news as we have it, in the meantime you should check out the official website or follow the game on Twitter.
