The latest from Famitsu and Bergsala Lightweight serves to detail and show off this recently announced title.

Drive Girls was recently announced as a PlayStation Vita bound title, though to be honest we didn’t know much at the time. It was revealed to be an action title with girls who can swap between fighting and car modes, and it was said to have some sort of bug bots as enemies. That was all we knew, and we didn’t even get a look at it.

Time to fix that. 😉

Featuring five girls as its protagonists, Drive Girls will follow in the footsteps of games like Senran Kagura and Akiba’s Trip – having a clothes break mechanic, and some naughty bits mixed in for good measure. As previously stated it’ll be an action title with fighting (on foot) and driving sections, but now we’ve also learned that it’ll feature four player online multiplayer, and that it will be released both physically and digitally just after the new year.

Oh, and we even got a look at it (thanks to some so-so quality scans/images);

Drive Girls is due out January 2017 in Japan.

Does it rev your engine?

    This is one of those japanese games that are so ridiculous they look awesome. Hope they bring it to the west!

    While I could care less about the clothes breaking ‘mechanics’, this looks like it could turn out pretty damn cool. Cute girls that transform into cool cars that fight (what kind of look like) Insecticons? There is no part of that sentence that I didn’t like.
    I hope the battle system mimics that of Transformers Devastation, which allowed you to transform end combo for a big wallop in your vehicle form that sent enemies flying.
