We get new information on the inclusion of Femto, infinite eclipse mode, equipment upgrades, and behelit collecting – topped off with a Serpico gameplay trailer.

According to the latest from Koei Tecmo, it looks like Femto – Griffith’s God Hand incarnation – will be playable in Berserk and the Band of the Hawk.

Able to be brought out using the transformation action on Griffith, the fifth God Hand is a force to be reckoned with as he fights by manipulating space. He has such control that he can hit or pull an enemy through ripping or warping space respectively.

Looking to the game itself, we get introduced to Infinite Eclipse mode – which has you beating down enemies one-by-one as its baseline. Aside from that however, you’ll also be sent on a plethora of missions that come about during battle.

We also get word about strengthening your character, which can be done through upgrading their equipment. There are three basic types that you’ll have to deal with; accessories, support, and travel.

  • Accessories improve your character’s abilities, and along with support items are purchased in the shop. You can use materials to enhance an accessory’s performance and skills, and by merging multiple accessories you can enhance their performance even further.
  • Support items are the items that you carry with you into battle, and along with accessories are purchased at the shop.
  • Travel equipment isn’t really equipment at all, and actually happens to come in the form of a warhorse. That said, there is more than one warhorse in the game – so it’s to be assumed that you’ll want to look for one with good attributes.

Lastly (for worded information anyways) is news of the ability to collect Behelits; pictures obtained from defeating strong enemies in the infinite eclipse mode, or by meeting certain conditions in battle. Each Behelit collected will give you a piece of a picture, which must be built before it can be inspected properly. Puzzles!

But that’s not the whole shebang, as you should definitely check out this recently released Serpico gameplay footage before you go;

Berserk and the Band of the Hawk is due out in Japan on October 27th, with a Western release set for February 21st in North America and February 24th in Europe.
