Square Enix has released an English demo for their upcoming Dragon Quest themed take on the block-building universe, and you can grab it right now in both North America and Europe.

Clocking in at around 226MB, this newly released Dragon Quest Builders demo will allow you to try out the life of a Legendary Builder – returning the power of creation to the people, and rebuilding Alefgard in the wake of the DragonLord’s destructive temper tantrum.

Will you be giving it a try? Let us know your thoughts (and first impressions) below!

Dragon Quest Builders is set to release October 11th in North America and October 14th in Europe.

It’s so adorable and I’m having fun with it. Sure, I’m still stuck in Tutorial Purgatory, but I like it a lot more than Minecraft (personal preference, because the open ended structure of minecraft leaves me doing nothing because I need direction in life). The only thing that bothers me is that I can’t figure out how to pick the girl version of the protagonist… wish it were getting a physical release, but regardless, I’m getting it when it releases.

I think you picked gender at options menu when starting the game.

      • Lester Paredes

Yeah, I figured it out. I thought it would ask before dropping you into the game.

Are you able to play as an atack choper?

      • Lester Paredes

Not in the demo, sadly. Maybe more options than male or female in the full release. Or post game content.

Ive never played minecraft, but this demo is really nice, I’ve played terraria and its pretty much the same, except for the 2d/3d difference. The bad thing is that it will probably sell at 40 bucks while the other games are cheaper or free

I’m really enjoying the demo. Anyone who’s on the fence should try it out. I was already sold on the game, so I’m gonna hold off until the actual release. I hate going through tutorials multiple times.

Played the demo it was fun but nowhere near the price attached to it $80 in canada

Loving the demo… Square MP’d me on Facebook after I asked about price… £30 UK… Might either spend £3 more and get PS4 physical or £16 more and import the cart. Will there be decent DLC though!?
