NIS America has announced the North American and European release dates for their upcoming release of Touhou Project roguelike bullet-hell title Touhou Genso Wanderer – and it looks like a friend will be joining it.

In Touhou Genso Wanderer you’ll be taking on a roguelike worthy of the name, everything you gather (items and weapons included) going down the drain with each death. That’s not to say that your deaths in this bullet-hell world will be worthless though, as dying just means you found another way NOT to do things. 😉

Don’t fear the seemingly punishing style of the game however, as losing all your belongings shouldn’t be a burden on your well-being for long; the game’s item fusion system will let you craft useful tools with the most mediocre of parts, and you’ll of course have a partner character along for the ride to keep you alive.

Building stuff from other stuff and the buddy system are two of the ways you’ll be able to survive, but can you make them work – or do you have another idea? Check out some new screens, and we’ll get to the “when” of things so you can start waiting properly.

Touhou Genso Wanderer is due out February 7th in North America and February 10th in Europe, releasing as a digital only title on Vita in the West.

Check out a brand new trailer to that effect;

As a bonus note however, it seems that 2D platformer Touhou Double Focus will release the same day – it’s being offered as a bonus when you buy the PlayStation 4 physical version, and has been confirmed for Vita release too!

Here’s the title’s description via the official website;

“After getting sucked into a magical book, Aya and Momiji must find their way back home. Explore every nook and cranny to unravel the mystery of the Book World! Along the way, the two run into many other residents of Gensokyo. Some come asking for help while others blame Aya for causing the incident. Help or defeat everyone you meet to give Aya her biggest story yet!”

Check out the newly revealed trailer for that as well;

Feeling like some Touhou in your life? It looks like February’s when you’ll get it!

    I don’t know if I will play this game, but as Europe (and the Netherlands for sure) needs more shredding heavy metal soundtracks, maybe I will give it a try.
