The official Skullgirls Twitter account has announced that thanks to a partnership with Limited Run Games a physical copy will be up for pre-order soon!

It looks like 2D fighting game Skullgirls 2nd Encore is finally getting a physical release on PlayStation Vita, as official word has come down regarding a Limited Run Games pre-order campaign that might even be able to fund the licensing of the original Japanese audio.

Here’s the announcement tweet;

…and here are the follow-up tweets which reveal that the 10,000 pre-order “bonus” is in play, and that the lobby patch will be included in the base physical release.

As for the game itself, our very own Crispyn reviewed it – and notes the following;

“Skullgirls 2nd Encore is crammed full of style and allure. It has a cool film noir vibe and its charming yet fearsome cast makes for a very well-rounded roster. The game feels as polished as it can be, but technical limitations seem to weigh it down a bit. Its variety of modes should leave you with plenty of hours of entertainment, and the story mode in particular shows just how incredibly thought-out the world and every character in it is. Altogether, Skullgirls 2nd Encore is a pretty impressive package, and it’s one that I don’t think I’ll stop playing any time soon.”

Skullgirls 2nd Encore pre-orders will go live on October 31st, make sure to get yours in if you’re interested in getting a copy. If you’re interested in that original Japanese audio however, you should probably tell a friend too! 😉

    Aww, geeze. Why does this always happen to me? I imported the Japanese release (it’s in full English). I did the same with Valkyrie Drive and Dragon Quest Heroes (PS4). Curse my luck!

    Between this, Volume and Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath, LRG is finally getting a string of games I’m actually interested (only got two LRG releases so far).
