Gust has released loads of new artwork and screenshots for upcoming “heroic RPG” Blue Reflection: Sword of the Girl Who Dances in Illusions.

In the game you will be playing as protagonist Hinako Shirai. She was a ballet dancer but can no longer dance after suffering an injury to her foot. At school she meets two unusual girls called Yuzuki Shijou and Raimu Shijou who will give her a mysterious ‘Reflector’ power.

During the course of the game you’ll interact with a number of different girls and will watch the friendships grow between them all.

By getting to know your friends you’ll trigger special events which can occur both at school and outside of it. Not all of your interactions will be successful and at times you might end up upsetting people.

Blue Reflection doesn’t just take place at school there is also a “Different World” which is supposedly a world of the ‘unconsciousness of the human collective’. In this world Hinako will become a Reflector and be able to resolve problems. To resolve a problem you’ll need to find the source of the problem – crystallized emotions.

There will also be items to obtain in this world which will enable you to heal and also aid you in exploration. By exploring and obtaining crystallized emotions in the Different World, changes will take place in the real world which affect the students.

It’s not all about exploring though, you will come across various enemies which you’ll have to fight. Thankfully the girls aren’t helpless! By turning into Reflectors they’ll gain access to weapons. Hinako’s power turns into a sword, whereas Yuzuki’s turns into a baton and Raimu’s turns into a giant teddy…

There will be two limited editions of Blue Reflection: Sword of the Girl Who Dances in Illusions released in Japan – a Premium Box version and a Special Collection Box.

The Premium Box contains:

  • A copy of the game
  • A download code for Hinako’s special costume

  • Special-illustrated B3 cloth poster

  • School calendar
