The PlayStation Experience key note yielded a few surprises for Vita, including Ys Origin – releasing early next year.

Originally released in 2006 on PC, Ys Origin is now coming to PlayStation Vita on February 21st, 2017 – the prequel title set hundreds of years before the rest of the Ys series. It serves to tell the back-story of Ys, Darm Tower, the Black Pearl, the twin goddesses, and the six priests – using playable characters Yunica Tovah, Hugo Fact, and ‘The Claw’ to tie the story together from three different angles.
