Gust has released some new details on the battle system for upcoming game Blue Reflection: Sword of the Girl Who Dances in Illusions. We also have some new screenshots as well as information about two of the schoolmates, Sanae and Sarasa.

Battles will be turn-based, there will be a bar at the top of the screen that shows the order that characters can act in. When a character icon gets to the centre of the bar then it will be her turn to perform an action.

Though we’re light on details at the moment, we do know that if certain actions are performed in battle then the three girls can perform a cooperative powerful attack together.

Making friends in the real world will have an important impact in battles as you’ll gain the support of your friends. Before battle you can choose up to four allies to act as support for each girl. Each schoolmate will have a different support effect, from increasing defense to improving attack strength.

This is why it’s important to make friends in the real world. By helping to solve other classmates problems and getting to know them you’ll receive various benefits including their support in battle.

We also have a couple of new characters to introduce you to! Meet Sanae and Sarasa!

Sanae Nishida (voiced by Sayaka Senbongi) went to the same middle school as Hinako and cares for her a lot. She’s a keen member of the school’s Cooking Club and she’s also a fan of rap music.

Sarasa Morikawa (voiced by Ai Kakuma) is a ballet dancer and was a competitor to Hinako at middle school. Sarasa only became the top dancer after Hinako had to retire due to injury. Even though Sarasa is no longer competing against Hinako she’s still fiercely competitive against her and has quite a harsh attitude towards her.

Blue Reflection: Sword of the Girl Who Dances in Illusions is due out in Japan on March 30. Make sure you keep checking back to The Vita Lounge for more updates!
