Digital and physical copies will be going the way of the dodo sometime late January.

KanColle Kai – or Kantai Collection Kai – is a Japanese PlayStation Vita game that originated as a free-to-play browser game on PC. It features girls that can turn into ships (or vice-versa) for strategic simulation gameplay with historical influences. It was originally released in Japan on February 18th, 2016… but it looks like it won’t be sticking around for its first birthday.

Kadokawa Games has announced that it will halt shipments of the physical copy of the game and stop sales of the digital version sometime near the end of January, the full force of it coming in by the time February hits. Those who own the game (or can find it physically after that date) will still be able to play (and re-download it), but further shipments will not be made in any form.

KanColle Kai is currently available in Japan, but you’re running out of time if you still haven’t added it to your collection!

Dang. That was fast. I wonder if it’s got anything to do with an expiring license? That’s got to be the reason.
