Spike Chunsoft has released some new information and a trailer to introduce some of the new characters in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. We also have some details about the various bonus modes available.
Ryouma Hoshi (voiced by Akio Otsuka) is the Ultimate Tennis Player. He had a promising future and won many overseas tournaments. His tennis career came to an end however after he used custom-made steel tennis balls to shoot at the heads of the mafia. After this event he was placed in the Academy for Gifted Prisoners.
Kaito Momota (voiced by Ryohei Kimura) is the Ultimate Astronaut. He forged a college degree to enable him to take the test required to become an astronaut and managed to become the first ever successful teenage applicant. His lie was eventually revealed but as he was so skilled he was taken in as a trainee anyway. He hasn’t yet been to space but he has a great passion and admiration for the universe.
Himiko Yumeno (voiced by Aimi Tanaka) is the Ultimate Magician. She insists that her magic is real and not just sleight of hand. She is one of the youngest members of the “Magicians Castle”, an organization composed of sleight of hand magic lovers across the world but she insists that this organisation exists to conceal the existence of real magic.
Angie Yonaga (voiced by Minori Suzuki) is the Ultimate Artist. She’s a very religious girl who believes that the “God of the Island” is always by her side. She insists that God is actually the one who creates her paintings and sculptures through her.
Monodam (voiced by Koichi Yamadera) is the only Monokuma with a robot-like body. He’s been bullied in the past and so has shut out his heart and barely talks with his Monokuma siblings.

Next we have some details about some of the bonus modes available.
Super High School Level Talent Training Project is a mode where you’ll get to develop each character through various events and interactions with other students. Any characters that you develop in this mode can be used in the “Dungeon of Despair: Monokuma’s Trial” mode. The story in this mode is set in an “if” story where it shows what would have happened if the characters of V3 had attended Hope’s Peak Academy. All of the characters from Danganronpa 1 and Danganronpa 2 will also appear and are playable if certain conditions are meet.
Dungeon of Despair: Monokuma’s Trial is an RPG mode where you can use the characters you raised in the previous mode to tackle dungeons and fight against various Monokumas. The aim is to reach the depths of this 50-level dungeon. You’ll obtain various materials from battles which can be used to create new weapons and armor.
Card Death Machine is a mode where you use the money obtained during the “Dungeon of Despair: Monokuma’s Trial” mode to buy cards. Some new cards will allow you to unlock characters in the “Super High School Level Talent Training Project” mode. The higher the rarity of the card the faster the growth speed in the “Super High School Level Talent Training Project” mode.
You can put Monokuma Medals into the MonoMono Machine to obtain various items. You’ll have a greater chance of getting new items if you put lots of coins in at once. The items obtained through the MonoMono Machine can be given as presents in order to deepen your relationships with other students.
You can also exchange Monokuma Medals in the Casino to get casino coins which can be used to play some of the casino games like the Slot Machine or catch fish in the Sake no Tukamidori game. You can trade-in the casino coins you earn for items and skills.
Looks like there will be lots of new things to do in Danganronpa V3! The game is due out in Japan on January 12 and in the West in 2017. Let us know in the comments what you think!
