Following up a mysterious teaser trailer released in December, developer Experience has officially announced new title Death Mark.

Alongside the official announcement we also get our first details on what exactly the game is. Whilst known for their dungeon RPG’s, with Death Mark, Experience are taking on the horror adventure genre.

The game will be set in the Tokyo metropolitan area’s H City. In this world those with a specific birthmark known as the “mark” (creative naming awards incoming) will die. In order to avoid their fate there are those looking into a mysterious mansion.

The protagonist of the game is a middle aged man who has lost his memory. He joins up with a partner to explore the mansion and investigate. Throughout the mansion there are certain “Kaii” spots that will force people to face death, wrong choices at these moments can result in a game over.

Last but not least the developers feel that the game development is currently 50% complete and are aiming for a 2017 release.

What do you think of Death Mark then? Details are scarce but the setting sounds like an interesting premise for a horror game. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Death Mark is set to release on PS Vita in Japan some time in 2017 for 4,800 yen. Stay tuned to The Vita Lounge for more information as we get it.

Sounds interesting, aside from a lack of imaginative naming conventions. Lol

The teaser trailer was cool, I know Experience has good people… I’m VERY curious and even somewhat positive this may be localized!
