We’ve got a list of the most downloaded games in 2016, and you might be surprised by some of the charters.
The PlayStation Vita has had a hell of a year once more, bringing tons of new titles to our hands and filling our daily lives with joy. Whether you enjoyed a game on your PlayStation TV in the living room, or a Vita under your desk at work, you know that there’s plenty to be had and plenty to be grateful for in 2016.
Now that the PlayStation Blog has released their top downloads for the year however, we get to see just what you guys wanted to play most. Let’s take a look!
- Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth
- God Eater: Resurrection
- XCOM: Enemy Unknown Plus
- Borderlands 2
- Persona 4 Golden
- Jak and Daxter Collection
- Sword Art Online -Hollow Fragment-
- Ratchet & Clank Collection
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth taking #1 in North America for 2016 is kind of a sad thing – not because the game is bad, but simply because of how we’ve been deprived of that other Digimon game for Vita here in the West. It seems that even selling big on a franchise won’t guarantee you’ll see another title from them in the West, which is quite a bummer.
That said, some great titles charted this year – with the Digimon, Persona 4 Golden, Sword Art Online, and Severed releases most certainly getting my praise. I haven’t played most of the others, but I think we’re all a little surprised that Minecraft wasn’t number one. 😛
Anyways, that’s all for the list this year as Europe’s list doesn’t single out Vita titles like North America’s does. We’ll never know what the biggest titles were there, though I expect their list is something like the one above – though maybe with different sale titles filling the gaps.
