Psychose Interactive have announced that they’re skipping our platform in favour of “next gen” consoles.

In a somewhat insulting post (especially if we include replies), it seems that Psychose Interactive have chosen to cancel the PlayStation Vita bound version of survival horror title Forgotten Memories in favour of PlayStation 4, X-Box One, and PC releases of an evolved form of the game – dubbed Forgotten Memories Project.

In the interest of delivering things with as much clarity as possible (which I like to do with cancellations for various reasons), here’s the entirety of the announcement via their Twitter account;

Forgotten Memories is no longer coming to PlayStation Vita in any form, so adjust your expectations accordingly and cross it off your lists.

  • I can understand them skipping Wii U, with the Nintendo Switch around the corner, but both the Vita and Android are still very vibrant platforms. I don’t buy it!

  • DMSpider

    Odds on that this next gen release feels like a mobile port.

    For me, this simply mean that I won’t play the game in any shape or form. My backlog for PC, PS4 and Xbone are way to full to even consider this without the Vita edition.

  • DCGX

    Ironic, I can’t for the life of me remember what this game is/was.

  • Astrus

    That phrasing.
    “[T]hese systems are no longer able to run he game to our satisfaction…” fair enough, I guess
    “…nor supported by their manufacturers.” Wait what?
    When was support for either of the platforms officially dropped? Nintendo does have the Switch coming up and the Vita does get the step-child treatment but Android in particular isn’t going anywhere.
    I could take that whole blurb a lot more serious if they didn’t include that part.

    That sucks, I was looking forward to this game. Vita is a dying system, huh? Rumors if vitas death are numerous, but false. It’s just under-supported by it’s creators.
