Bandai Namco has released some new information for today’s release of simulation RPG Super Robot Wars V.

To start, a new type of accumulation for use in action has been introduced in Super Robot Wars V, and it’s called ExC (Extra Count). It’s gained through attacking enemy units, or leveling up a unit’s main pilot, and can be used to activate a special “Extra Action” ability. This allows you to perform special moves like “Boost Dash,” “Direct Attack,” and “Smash Hit.”

As for the battleship-specific “Extra Order” command, it uses ExC in exchange for granting buffs and heals to allied units. You can activate effects such as “Emergency Recovery,” “Focus Up,” “ExC Up,” and “Recover Action” – but only “Focus Up” can be used on the player’s own battleship.

Additionally, we’ve got a look at a new character called “Nine.”

Nine’s existence is intermingled with the System 99 OS of the VangRay prototype anti-alien mobile weapon – the one you pilot as the protagonist, and as such Nine works alongside the game’s main characters. That’s not much to go on, but it’s enough to make you curious for sure!

Are you interested in Super Robot Wars V? Well it’s out today in Japan and Asia, the latter region offering English subtitles for the wary importer. If you forgot, or missed the announcement, you might want to jump to a friendly retailer and grab a copy; it’s not often we get any sort of English with these kinds of games. 😉
