Compile Heart has revealed more about how card growth works in their upcoming free-to-play card battle game.
In Nep-Nep Connect: Chaos Chanpuru you’ll be battling card-based characters with the CPU in order to come out victorious. What makes this interesting however, is that just like characters in a normal RPG these cards can be strengthened beyond their default state.
To power up a card you’ll need different character cards to act as strengthening material – and the higher the rarity of the cards used, the more experience points your focal card will acquire. Using the same card as strengthening material will level up the strengthened card’s leader skill as well.
Additionally, you can uncap the maximum level of a card by completing an item request (which may even end up in an illustration change). This can only be performed a certain number of times per character, so you’ll have to be aware of the best times to uncap in order to make the strongest characters.
Nep-Nep Connect: Chaos Chanpuru is headed to japan sometime this year. Watch for it!
