Following another update to the Nep-Nep Connect: Chaos Chanpuru official website we now know some more about how boss battles will work in the game.
The rule set is the same as standard battles, you face off against the opponent attempting to reduce their HP to 0. Bosses however as you would expect enjoy several perks that your normal encounters lack.
First of all each boss has their own unique skill, each turn that passes will slowly fill the boss’ EX Gauge, once it’s full the boss will unleash their special skill.
As well as the special skills bosses have other actions at their disposal, each boss is able to use a linear attack that aims directly at your lifeline, the only way to block it is with a unit in the path of the attack which will take the damage in your place.
On top of special skills and devastating attacks, just in case you weren’t having enough fun, bosses are also able to summon subordinates into battle to slow your progress. Defeating bosses will require a mix of slow progression through these underlings and defending against the powerful attacks thrown your way.
