    Death Mark coming west

Death Mark, a horror visual novel developed by Experience that first launched for PS Vita in Japan in June 2017, followed by PlayStation 4 in January 2018 and Switch in June 2018, is coming to all three platforms in North America and Europe, publisher Aksys Games announced. A release window was not announced.

Here is an overview of the game’s story, via our previous coverage:

The Tokyo metropolitan area’s H City. In this suburban city, a strange rumor has been spreading recently. Those who possess the “mark” will die. The “mark” is unexpectedly engraved onto the body, as if it was a chewed up birthmark, and is said to result in an unknown death.

As a matter of fact, a strange incident occurred where someone met a suspicious death. This incident has become an urban legend, and has propagated various speculation such as it being the result of a ghost encounter somewhere or unknowingly coming into contact with a curse.

Having lost your memory, you stand before a western-style house said to protect those who possess the “mark.” As if drawn to something, when the doors to the house open, you’re greeted by a beautiful doll who is the lord of the mansion.

    “Welcome to Kujou Mansion.”

    The doll continued to speak.

“You will die if you stay like this.”

“But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a way to be saved.”

The countdown to “death” had already begun…

I'm not a fan of visual novels but I am a fan of horror games so I'm looking forward to this one.

Definitely excited for this! I am currently trying to stumble through the import version via a walkthrough. Will be very nice to finally have a translation for it. Wonder if Aksys put in the orders for a physical release for Vita. Me thinks they probably did.

Great news, especially with Askys publishing it since they are pretty much the only ones still giving us physical copies. They also announced that they are bring Code Realize - Wintertide Miracles to the west. Hoping both get physical releases.

Aksys claim that this (and the new Code Realize fandisc) is actually getting a physical release:

Someone proceeds to ask whether anything was planned for Europe - and they even responded to that

...but it's Aksys after all, so who knows if any of this is really going to pan out.

    It's gonna
    Get
    PHYSICAL!

    :D

Seriously, I'm ecstatic that this is getting a physical Vita release. The only thing that could make me happier is news of Dungeon Travelers 2-2 getting a physical western release. (Trying to tempt the gaming gods...) :p

Visual Novels have become my favorite style of games over the past few years. Pretty much as soon as I played 999 I was hooked. II am quite excited for this!

For certain! They lend themselves really well for good stories!

That excitement got me into Root Letter as well, but that was a disappoitment, sadly.

I remember getting excited over this when we were getting Demon Gaze and Operation Abyss, all from Exp Inc. which was ages ago!

    Wasn't this Shin in Japan?

There is no room for if, maybe, perhaps, because this is no longer possible to ask for the required item code from Sony. Either there is already someone releasing those game physically in Europe or there is none.

Oh man... What to do with this... Can Aksys step up their game please?

Or would this be PQube's final goodbye to the vita?
