Seems like a very fair review from what I've seen in the actual game. Good write up.

Digimon get stat increases when they level, following a predetermined stat table. The more rounded digimon may see a single stat increase to all stats, while more specialist ones might see 2 to some and 0 to others, but in general all stats will rise as the levels go by.
There's a thingy on the digimon's profile that lets you see its stats at any particular level, so you could play around with that to see at what level exactly Salamon has 40STR.
Also all digimon can use the Training function of a digifarm to earn up to 50 bonus stat points, and can earn up to another amount equal to half of their ABI total, so 100/2 = another 50 max.

ABI is a stat that raises when a digimon evolves or devolves. The higher level the digimon was before evolving/devolving, the more ABI will increase, and in general, devolution gives more ABI. ABI determines how many additional bonus stats can be earned from training, and also some digimon have an ABI value as a prerequisite, ie, to evolve to MegaGargomon, the ultimate-level digimon must have an ABI of 20 or more. I believe it also determines level cap.

Neither Zephyrmon (Shutumon's dub name) nor Ranamon are in it, not as playable digimon at least (they might appear on the collectable medal section). Also, they're quite special digimon in several ways, they don't have traditional evolution lines, and they don't evolve in the normal way.

In my opinion the only boring part about this game so far is Kyoko. They should of just made her an old man because that's all she does is ramble like one. The other characters are interesting but aren't getting enough screen time. The battles are are kind of blah so far that and I'm bulldozing chapters with the same team all game, hope it picks up later!

I love the Digimon , but like Devil Summoner, they seem to be the secondary part of the game and are there just for the sake of being there. The explanations of the Digital Wave/World and how Kyoko went on about "ley lines" are so convoluted that I just find myself skipping text, something I RARELY do in an RPG. Most of the stuff she talks about requires me to have Google handy because I have no friggin clue what she's trying to say.

Maybe I'm just not a detective kind of guy, but I don't know, the story seems incredibly weak so far, and I'm 21 hours in. As a first timer to Digimon, I'm kind of disappointed thus far! The only reason I'm still hooked is because Lillymon is just so cute and I can't stop gushing over her!

Definitely start producing those Tactician USBs at the Digifarm asap.
With just 6 of those, in one specific Chapter 15 location, I did a ton of evolving and devolving to build up a stock of megas, and it didn't even feel like grinding.

I was wondering where the topic for this game was. Thank you thread directory forum!

I am really enjoying this game! :) I didn't watch a lot of digimon when I was kid except Digimon Frontier, but this game really makes me want to watch all of the others. There are just so many great-looking digimon in this game. Digi-evolving my digimon has been pretty awesome so far, and I haven't even reached mega yet, only ultimate! xD Only on Chapter 7 too.

Story is okay. Started off a bit dull, but the digimon make up for that. I hope the story gets better as I progress further.

I gota agree, the story is incredibly dull. I got bored and quit around after Etemon's music quest about 20 or so hours in. Every major quest seems to be in Kowloon, and that place is really boring. The quest starts off interesting, but doesn't make sens. No one seems to think it's odd when you are in the middle of a hospital and suddenly get sucked into a monitor or anything.

A certain mad scientist and detective woman also spew off random Japanese lore, science, and mythology A LOT, which bored me out of my mind. The story telling, or maybe the translation, just simply made little sense to me. Don't get me started on Mr. LOLZ Kiss Band rip off, either...*shudders*

It's almost like this game took a straight rip of Devil Summoner 2's playbook from ATLUS, and swapped the demons for Digimon, minus the more action packed battles. Detective agency? Check. Weird mysterious girl showing up for help at random intervals? Check. Summoning monsters? Check. Being a silent protagonist? Check. Quirky boss with a food fetish that they keep reminding you of? Check. A crazy group bent on causing chaos? Check. List goes on.

Every Digimon apart from the bosses get one shot with ease, and even on hard mode. Though the bosses are stupidly hard on hard mode, they are still beatable since the AI doesn't let you lose. It will attack guest Digimon when you are near death, or last useless debuffs while you heal up.

The Digimon are literally the only thing that kept the going, as you said. The side character friends are interesting, but they lack screen time. All the focus is on the boring detective woman who acts like an old man obsessed with bad coffee. I couldn't take it anymore. I should've waited for the 50% off sale...I knew it. X_X

Here's hoping Frontier is more exciting..

The story is really boring that's why I stopped playing it after chapter 4 or so.
