Yea it was, not going to be using either FedEx or Play Asia again unless I have to from now o
Sadly, it seems this release has sold out so you will have to wait for retailers to restock it, if they do. We don't have a lot of options from where we can order Asian English releases from either. Play-Asia and YesAsia are the only ones I know who accept PayPal.
FedEx just follows the law, sadly. When the declared value of a package exceeds a certain value (this value varies depending on country), they are obliged to charge you local taxes. Other carriers and the local post offices usually aren't as strict but FedEx always follows the rules. I don't use them personally when importing because of this.
YesAsia seems to have it in Stock, but the listing has no picture. Should i pull the trigger? I'm worried the listing might be wrong.
The listing looks fine to me but I'm worried that the "Availability: Usually ships within 7 to 14 days" means it's not actually in stock, and might not be in stock before Play-Asia gets their copies either. It's common for them to not have pictures I think but they've been reliable for me the three times I've used them. Paying with PayPal means you are protected too.
Thanks Goro. You're the best. Just took a leap of faith.
If you're really desperate and can cancel that order, then there are copies available for $54.99 on eBay with free shipping. 20 bucks more than I paid personally though.
I have no problem paying the import tax, £6 isn't the end of the world and I always factor potential import in when I buy stuff in the event I get charged. The £12 "FedEx handling fee" when I payed them £12 already to bloody well ship it to me is something I'm not OK with, surely whatever admin BS they're trying to say costs £12 would be expected with an international package to the UK and be factored in when I pay them, its not like they even had to keep the package anywhere overnight it came straight to me. That's what sucks, so I'll be joining you in avoiding them from now on.
Handling fees are universally rubbish - Royal Mail charge £8 IIRC.
The only way round that is to find somewhere that lets you pay the import VAT before you order - I know you can do this on the US amazon and some items on eBay using the global shipping service
My Oreshika finally landed in the US after a few weeks of being out of stock and not sent, then giving no tracking info after finally shipping. I hope it gets here without any problems.
No, Play Asia. I pre-ordered it from them, but it just went TBA when it was supposed to release, and didn't stock and ship until the 11th. It was only in stock for a few days maybe?
I wonder how many copies of the English version of Oreshika have been produced. Not that many I'm guessing.
As of this moment, there are 3 copies of Oreshika on eBay costing £39.00 with free shipping, if anyone's still after a copy.
I've just gotten a 2nd updated reply from play Asia stating the full English cover of Moe Chronicle shown on the HK blog should be the one they're receiving. Personally I'm still going to wait and see but it's potentially good news nonetheless. If anyone could post here when they get theirs so we know 100% that would be great.
In the meantime I'm going to ask them to confirm the information with me when they have them in hand.
As of right now my Oreshika physical edition from Play-Asia is in California. Hoping to be here at the end of the week! So excited.
PlayAsia is getting more copies?
Got a link?
Sorry I missed the title of the game I was referring to. Moe Chronicle out yet but it releases in May, the HK blog pictured a version with the telltale english memory card box so I asked them if they were getting that particular version in stock. they have suggested to me that they might be.
My newest Vita arrival:
Finally got my copy, I found it fairly entertaining they managed to mispell "tainted" on the game case!
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I couldn't resist.
Anyways, grats on your copy.
Curse my lack of sleep!
Anyway, I'll be getting Sayonara Umihara ordered today, the American digital release has a language toggle so I'll be interested to see if the Japanese physical release has the same kind of thing.
I ended up preordering it from Nippon Yasan in the end.
Finally got mine:
