ahaha. Nope. A friend of mine has japanese friends who run a shop. Then, my friend can get some hot things for me :3. I mean, he got me the New 3DS near the release, Senran Shinovi VS Nyuu Nyuu for 40-50 bucks, Dokuro for 5-10 usd, within others. He bought a copy of Valkyrie Profile CIB (PSX Version) for 10 USD :eek:. I want a lot of Japanese versions of consoles, like the Tales of Xillia PS3, Ni No Kuni PS3, SMT IV 3DS, TWEWY DS Lite, Miku Vita, Miku PSP, MH 3rd P PSP, Dangan Vita, etc, etc, etc! xD. Well, at least I will get my PS Vita Slim Danganronpa V3 this month :3

Either way, you can hack any 3DS. I could do that in my Japanese 3DS, but I prefer to hack another system... I hacked my PSP, but I buy the game. I was playing the Digimon Adventure Game, but my friend got me the UMD :D

By the way, in Europe you have a lot of nice limtied editiosn, those Zelda Collectors, Bravely Default CE, Fire Emblem, the Xenoblade Wii Version with the controller, Pandora's Tower D:

AAAAAH I'm so jealous xD I do have my sister in law who currently lives in Japan, I could probably ask her to get one for me and send it sometime :3 but the shipping cost though, posting stuff from Japan is quite expensive... Or I could try to order one directly from Amazon Japan, I haven't checked the prices yet  But first I need to make a list of all those Japanese games that I would like to get, see if it's really worth it to import or if I should hack instead (but I'm not a big fan of hacking, doesn't feel the same to play a hacked game than a real one!)

And yes we do get a lot of sweet collectors :) I got the animal crossing happy home designer for my new 3DS XL, I might sell this one someday though and get another collector edition instead ^^

Europe always get the anime-like videogames :( You have Inazumas, One Piece and other cool stuffs, but...atlus hates Europe, so it's not perfect xD. You can ask your sister to visit madarake, book off and other shops in Japan. Shibuya has a lot of videogame-anime-manga stuffs for sale. Next year I will visit Japan for a month and I will buy... everything xD!. Always it's better to receive any package using SAL Registered Shipping. Amazon Japan doesn't send internationally (I guess few few few sellers will ship outside Japan). I have a videogame list where I put the japanese games I want. Last month I bought (well, my friend), AirshipQ, Ray Gigant and Taiko 3DS (I lost my catridge with my save :( ).

Sell me your Majora's Mask Collector's Edition :rolleyes:

Yeah we do get a lot of anime stuff, but as you said atlus... generally there are a lot of games that the US gets but not us (RUNE FACTORY 4 FOR GOD SAKE!!! bought an NA 3DS specifically for this game!!:mad:) Amazon Japan does ship internationally now! I buy most of my games there! and the shipping cost is quite reasonable (10€ and it takes less than a week for the package to arrive in France), it might be different for the US though
I'm still not really aware of all the games that are not localized so I need to get to that! Also, I took a look in amazon jp and found this lovely pink 2DS for about 10,000 yens, now I want it x'D

You didn't get the Majora's mask collector edition in the US?!:eek:

Oh, nice. I tried to buy some Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG product and the seller only shipped inside Japan :(. You can check playasia and there you can see what games you know you will never get in english (like, every visual novel, some pervert games, etc). I am not from the US, I am from Chile (South America), but almost always I receive my games in Miami.

Well, we did, but no the same :(

    That hot pin badge D:.

I bought four copies of Majora's Mask Collector's and three copies of the New 3DS XL Majora's (1 each for my best friend and the other to trade, but nobody wanted to trade, only pay the re-seller price.... The hype was real). The US edition was sold out in 5-10 minutes in Chile hahaha xD

Holy crap that's intense! I remember that when I wanted to buy majora's mask it was sold out all over France and I had to order it online to get it ^^ My sister did get that collector edition you mentioned (with the pin badge and everything ^^). And jesus you bought 4 copies of the game and 3 of the New 3Ds XL at once?! xD When I bought my 2nd 3DS XL I barely had enough to eat for the rest of the month x'D

I actually only use my 3DS nowadays for Pokemon (I HAD to get it when I saw XY's updated graphics (so I got Y), and I've gotten OR and Moon since, whereas my wife got X, AS and Sun) and I have used it for the two Senran Kagura games it had. Still have The World Ends With You for it as my tiny little backlog. Not many games, but the amount of hours I've sunken into the Pokemon and Senran Kagura games make up for it A LOT.

My Vita I use for bunches of things, really, and I absolutely love it.

In the end, I prefer the Vita as a system and qua games as well, but the 3DS is my Pokémon system and I am okay with that. We got it second hand for a cheap price a few years ago and it's been through a lot now :D

I actually like both. For me the 3ds has more mmos like monster hunter. The vita has one as well but its not being released in the us.

First of all, I love this topic and glad you chose to post such a debatable question...lovely because I own both the Vita 2000 (used to own the 1000 and miss the OLED :( ) and the "New" Nintendo 3ds which is my very first 3ds. I love both systems very very much however, I've been a nintendo handheld fanboy since waaaaay back when...but (there's always a but lol) I LOVE MY companion PS Vita. I believe I the reason lies in the back of my head...I always root for the true underdog in the gaming world. I did own a psp back in the day which I miss dearly (had to sell it for 20 fn bucks! Can't believe it :=( ). In 2013 I walked into Gamestop and found my second best buddy, the PS Vita 1000. I was like "what's this??." Where's the UMD drive?? Owwww crap it takes gamecards that hold up to 4 gigs of space/memory! If you know about video games then you know that game paks, cards and cartridges are faster than disks! PSVita isn't liked much for its gemicky touch pad/screen but, I actually like the gemmicky controls along with dual analogs. The graphics are dope. Contrary to popular belief, the vita has a whole lot of english "physical releases "...just depends on what kind of gamer you are! I have some digital games as well..from psp to psvita. I have well over a hundred physical english titles on my vita which is the bulk of my backlog. I also own the PSTV and use it on a 22" monitor (anything larger is straight uhhh dumb). Its a beautiful beautiful thing to play vita games with a dual shock4 controller! I'll share a couple of goodies I have on my Vita...Ys Memories of Celceta (87% trophy completion so far) and Unit 13 which is an awesome entry beginners shooter game...awesome awesome Shooter on a portable gaming device my goodness it's addictive and people are still playing it since 2012 including online. I did online coop to get the trophy hehehe! It's beautiful and you also get to talk to the other player on the vita. I co-oped with some female whose probably from a different country lol. It was fun...Trails of Cold steel one&2 are cool too hence I am a big japanese media buff since elementary so I figure I start fully investing myself into japanese which is a very different language...watashi wa nihongo sukoshi shirimas! (translation: I know a little japanese) I'm studying at my own pace and it's going good until I take it up...it's noooooo cake walk. It's hard but rewarding...Now, my 3ds hmmmmm....I love it. Always loved nintendo. They produce quality hardware and the game library is MASSIVE filled with classics. Nintendo is known to produce some classics on the handheld. I honestly don't think there's a handheld that will ever match nintendo's handhelds. Nintendo have that market on lockdown ever since the '80s. Nintendo is a strategist and knows their stuff...their systems are known to be underpowered but are build with excellent quality...I never knew that until other video game enthusiasts mentioned such a statement about the hardware. I thought their systems were fine which is an UNDERSTATEMENT of course. Nintendo is actually keeping up with the times....think about it why build a system, console or handheld, with tons of horse power if most people won't need or will use the systems full ability anyway. For instance, my beloved Vita. It has soooooooooooooo much power. It's hardware and capabilities are arguably unmatched so far but for what? I understand why. The Vita's job was to be on par with smartphone gaming....think about it! Touch screen and the fact that it Connects to wifi and that the 1000 model has a at&t simcard slot. Smartphones are powerpowerful so the Vita was just trying to tap both video gaming and mobile gaming markets to strike the interest of casual gamers and....the hardcore crowd. I'm the in-between-gamer dude. Nintendo is its own leader and boss and they know this. They don't follow but set trends! Nintendo is a true trend setter. Love nintendo more than Sony but I love my niche vita companion more than my beautiful 3ds. The 3ds xl screen is amazingly huge and I love playing my pokemon alpha saphire on my new nintendo 3ds...ahhhhh yes I have sun&moon but I won't play them anytime soon. So, with everything said hands down I love my VITA more but but but, I love both systems.

While I much prefer the hardware on the Vita (because, of course) for me it all comes down to the games. So where did I find the best games? Tough one! I loved my Personas, my Danganronpas and Steins:Gates. I can't wait for Caligula (The Caligula Effect, I learn today) and hope Exile will be localized, but I also loved my Bravelys, Stella Glow, Phoenix Wrights, Fire Emblems and Persona Q. So Let's just say I was fortunate enough not to have to pick one (I am a handheld only gamer). It sure looks like the Vita will have a bit more to offer in 2017 whereas the DS is pretty much dead (despite of all the marketing BS Ninty would have you believe). There's a new kid in town now: let's hope it does well and that, hopefully, that brings us more handheld goodies maybe from Sony too?

I'm personally guessing Sony is out of the handheld market for good.

I am hoping however that the types of awesome games we've had for the Vita lately will come to the Switch though. Indeed, Steins;Gate, Danganronpa, Psycho Pass (a real recommendation seeing your list, though perhaps watch the anime season 1 first. Psycho Pass's Vita game is a spin-off of the anime, rather than the anime being an adaptation of the vita game like with Steins;Gate) were some great games and I hope we can get some stuff like that on the Switch. For now there's Death Mark coming out in Japan that I'm looking forward to.

Psucho Pass is actually on my radar, thx for the recommendation :)
I agree a Sony handheld is unlikely, but you can bet if Nintendo starts making tons of money out of the switch, they will consider jumping back in. I too have high hopes for the Swith filling in the shoes of the Vita, I don't particualarly care for Nintendo's franchises (except Metroid Prime), but if they can give me the JRPG's and Visual Novels combined with indies, I'm definetly in. No rush though, it's wait and see for now and I will not buy this year anyway, I only have so much time for gaming (I'm 41) and Vita backlog + new releases will already be more than I can chew.

Oh, The Nonary Games, Virtue's Last Reward and Zero Time Dilemma (a trilogy) fits perfectly in your list as well.

I getbyou on the time and backlog thing though. I'll be okay for a long time still. XD

Virtue's Last Reward is actually in my backlog :) You guessed it... Sale!

I will probably get Nonary down the line and play Virtue afterwards, but not soon. My priorities for 2017 are:

    Steins;Gate Zero (Vita)
    Thimbleweed Park (Steam)
    The Caligula Effect (Vita)
    Danganranpa V3 (Vita)
YIIK (either Vita or Steam, or Switch next year if the console doens't bomb)

    I think that's plenty already :)
