There are games that ought to have been released on the Vita but weren't. The audience was there. But, for whatever reasons, the publishers weren't convinced ports to the Vita were viable. How's about we list what we think were the most obvious choices!

RULES: These are games that realistically could have been ported to the Vita. I know, technically, you could port any title by lowering the visuals to significantly lower, as well as cutting corners, but lets stick to games that would have been easily ported without major corners cut AND would have sold well. This is not a thread for people listing games they simply wanted on the Vita i.e. "My favourite PS3 game was X, so I think they should have ported that", etc.

My vote goes to Sonic Mania: obviously, the visuals are that of an overclocked Megadrive or MD emulator, so there's no way that I can see that this couldn't have been perfectly ported to the Vita. It wasn't an expensive game to make, and the install size wouldn't have been huge either.

Other 2D games have sold at least reasonably well, and the game was released on the Switch, so it's not as if being a handheld had anything to do with it.

I grabbed the Switch version, but I'd have easily have bought on the Vita instead, despite having to play on a smaller screen (the game would've only looked sharper, if anything).

Mary Skelter 2 that's coming up. The game would be perfect on the system, the first did well enough to warrant a sequel, so I doubt sales are an issue, and I cannot imagine an anime-style DRPG to push the system to its limits.

There was also the DRPG Labyrinth of Coven: Refrain (or something like that??) that got a Switch release in localisation as opposed to the Vita release it got in Japan... I think that counts.

I think at least one of the Burnouts. I know it probably doesn't make financial sense like say Uncharted etc but it would've been a good showcase. Im sure the Vita would handle it. Killzone looks awesome just like Black did on the ps2 so it's gotta be possible.

    - Burnout Paradise (if Most Wanted 2012 was possible this should too)

    - The Escapist
    - Hatsune Miku Project Diva Future Tone (could be based on the engine used in the other Miku Vita games)
    - A (main?) Yakuza game (PSP got some spin-offs)
    - Persona 5 (just port it from PS3 because that is the most realistic option)
    - Yu-Gi-Oh! (as long it's not a tag variant)

Dragon Quest VIII. There is a 3DS-Version... but with the power of the Vita, it would really look like the PS2-Version (higher resolution, better texture-quality).

Oh! Blazblue Central Fiction! What distinguishes that game that a Vita port wasn't doable anymore?

What games should have been how about no ports and more original exclusive games that dont get ported to other systems. Games that would draw people to play the system not just a few heavy hitters. You can bring ports all day long but if its not exclusive then what would bring your customers to pay the higher prices when other systems can offer a better experience and a more reasonable and appealing price with exclusives.

I think we're more talking about games that we would've liked to play on the vita, that would reasonably have been able to get on it, rather than what could've saved the system.

Yeah an exclusive metal gear solid game would have been awesome or even a hd version of mgs po's with updated controls. Im over gta games so didnt really care much for that. An exclusive tomb raider would have been cool too

For me, it was Gravity Rush 2. That was the first game I bought for my Vita! I was so disappointed when they only released it for the PS4

I really liked it. I like games that try new things. I like how she uses her body to slam into enemies LOL I recommend the game to Vita owners :D By now, I think the game should be pretty cheap. I really really want to play part 2; I don't have a PS4 yet. :p

I even bought Kat for PS Vita All-Stars. I thought she was a free character but wasn't. It's okay, the game was sold at a low price :D
