Joetsu, the small Japanese company behind the very first PS Vita trigger grip, is back with their third accessory, but this time it adds button support to the front touch pad:

A comparison between Joetsu's first PS Vita 2000 grip and their new one:

The original was criticized for being kept in place with fragile plastic. It looks like Joetsu has responded to that.

Figured I must be overlooking the obvious, so I didn't say anything.

Is it a remote play map-able button thing for ps4? Cause it would be useless for native Vita play

A number of PS4 games map essential remote play controls to the front touch panel. Sony doesn't allow end users to change that.

So is this better than the other Remote Play Assistant or what? I can't picture it.

I've been thinking for some time about getting some form of L2/R2 grip...to play ps1 classics and ps4 remote play. Is there a preferred one out there?

Think people are missing it, there are now two remote play grips styles. They are either front or bac support. Many games stupidly mapped buttons to the front touch screen like over watch which makes shooting impossible because you have to take your finger of the analog stick. So basically to make all games playable youd need both grips :(
