There's 3000 (or was it 2000?) of them per platform right? Between two systems that's a lot of CE's, so hopefully it will be easier to get than WB and NT were. I wanted to grab both the PS4 and Vita one, but I think it'll be too hectic lol. They're both going to sell out in minutes either way. In all honesty, if I miss out first batch I will be checking eBay immediately. If someone posts one around the $100 mark looking for a quick buck I'll buy it lol. They will sky rocket after the second batch. I'm hoping none of us have to go that route.

Update on the PAX variant -PS4 only? Details taken from NeoGaf via CAG.

We'll have an exclusive cover variant for PS4. We'll also have a vending machine for the new trading cards - $0.50 for a random card. We'll have a ton of quarters behind the counter if you don't come with change handy. No idea if we'll have the free postcards - it's easier to bring those to east coast events since we drive a van to those (the post cards weigh a ton).

Important thing - we'll have a raffle at PAX for one copy of every game we've ever released on PS4 and Vita (standard editions only - no variants, collector's editions, or distributed titles). To enter, just bring the card that will be in your swag bag to our booth and we'll hole punch it and give you a raffle ticket. Every game you buy in our booth will get you another entry. We'll have some other methods to enter as well but haven't nailed them down yet. We're using this raffle as a way to get people to our booth - a lot of people missed us at PAX East so we didn't want to repeat that.

It might not even be Ys like people on the forums were thinking. Usually the PAX variants go on sale after the event. Ys is going on sale before PAX so not sure how they would sell the extras like they did previously. For Runner 2 they had variants on both versions so this PS4 cover is most likely one of the PS4 releases in September.

Don't let OCD overtake your love of the Vita! Any games that see physical releases will still be around in the future when Vita games are long out of production. If I could turn back time and triple the number of games that came out on the N64 I would do it in a heartbeat because that would mean that many more games would be available for me today. It's the games that will never see physical releases that i've got to worry about, which is a very relevant issue today with digital PS3 and Vita games being permanently pulled from the PSN store on a monthly basis. I'm salty I missed out on Simpsons the Arcade game. If it had seen a physical release of some sort then there would at least be hope.

So, there will be a 24-hour pre-order window for Ys.

I wouldn't have pre-ordered at play-asia if I'd known that would be easily available...

Any time i've ever requested Play-Asia to cancel a pre-order, they have always promptly obliged. I actually just cancelled my order of Vegas Casino with them last week and they were very friendly and professional about it.

Its gona be a bloodbath Friday morning going for the CE lol. Good to know the standard is there for back up. I'm sure everyone else will be going for the CE knowing that as well lol. Its going to be interesting to see how many preorders they sell too. I hope it does well enough that they can do this with other big titles in the future.

I feel the same way. To be honest after Skullgirls hit it's pre-order mark for Japanese audio, I thought we were gonna see a lot more games being released to order. Surprised it hasn't caught on much yet.

Has it been established if the Ys artbook from the CE is softcover or hardcover?

Wow that Ys CE is underwhelming for the price esp without a OST CD, a big box for a Vita game, folded poster and 72 page book, that could easily fit in a Play-asia collectors size box, i like CE's but they need stuff it them to justify the big box i.e soft toy, drinks bottle etc bit overkill if that's it imo...

What do you guys think of LRG releases having a second release at the same time via playasia?

For me, the lrg release is not so special anymore as a similar version is available. I think lrg need to sign an exclusivity deal with the developers so they can't do an asian release until some time in the future (2 years?). I don't want to prevent further physical releases, but by the same token i want lrg to kind of maintain that exclusive 'one time only ' availability.

You are absolutely right :D it's a big box with pre-order goodies so for me it's the standard edition of both vita games, already pre-ordered the Asian version of YS from PA

    It's a long shot but...

...if anyone here isn't going for the CE & is on a super fast internet speed, I'd be very grateful if you could possibly buy one on my behalf, as I'm very slow on ordering so think I'll miss out. :(

The YS CE LRG variant sounds tempting, but $54.99 for the game, a (probably made of tear resistant paper) poster and a 72 page artbook is a littlebit steep especially if you count the shipping.

Need to think about it, have already a PA pre-order since months so I will get the game in any case.

That's why I'm wondering if the artbook is softcover or hardcover, it's a huge difference to me.
