I think that Vita will continue to receive software support from Indies and localization houses through 2016 and 2017.

Ten years from now people will be writing retrospective articles about the Vita and the recurring theme will be that Vita was a very powerful machine with a library of great games that no one paid attention to in its own time. It will also be highly coveted by collectors.

I never cared about first party games from Sony. Yes i own most of them on Vita but that's because i got em for cheap. This is not something i will lose my sleep over. It's been like that for over 3 years. Why are people still creating pointless drama over this? WTF

Searching Vita at gamestop.com and sorting by best selling, it does appear to be popular.

It's funny because the PlayStation brand is what makes the most money for Sony Corp.

Only the PS4 is making them money. It's literally the only thing , keeping the company alive at this point. That's why they don't want to make any first party games for the Vita. They cannot. If PS4 sales slow down it's over for Sony. And so many people cry before actually thinking about this. There's a reason behind everything. Yes it sucks. I wish the Vita got more support , because it's my favorite handheld. But the way things are we just have to make peace with it and enjoy what we can get on it. There's still some awesome games coming out . Most of them are Japanese , but at this point anyone that pays attention should know this by now. And if you're not fine with that. Here's a simple solution - sell your Vita's and move on with you're lives. Buy the far superior 3DS and be happy

Keep in mind. My comment is mostly about the people that make treats like these calling the Vita dead for not having first party games.

Not to bash on the 3DS but I rather have 1-5 third party games a week then 1-4 first party games a year

I mostly buy third party - so Sony supporting or not supporting is nothing major for me. Now if Atlus pulled the plug on the VITA I'd be hurting big time.

This was what I expected from the get go, Sony hasn't done anything different from last year. I'm glad to hear they will still be working with third parties and porting their own indie games as well.

As many have said, but the media seems to ignore, Sony haven't released a Sony Worldwide Studios developed title since Freedom Wars... There are no games currently in development from Sony Worldwide Studios for Vita.

This is not the same as "no games will ever be developed by Sony Worldwide Studios" though I'd say that's unlikely now, however more importantly, it doesn't mean Sony are "no longer funding any content for Vita".
